You’re in good hands
I’m Danielle Farrah, founder of Lalita Method. I grew up in Potomac, Maryland and have been an athlete my entire life. I studied Business at Georgetown University and later earned my Master’s in Health Promotion Management from American University, spending over fifteen years in the health-tech startup world designing systems meant to improve health outcomes at scale.
But I always felt something was missing. Health advice was everywhere, yet most of it was generalized. Programs, nutrition plans, and workouts were being applied to everyone the same way.
At Lalita Method, I built a space focused on how people actually feel in their bodies through movement, recovery, and nervous system regulation.
PNOĒ was the missing link.
For the first time, we can see how your body actually functions through personalized metabolic data, giving us the precision to match science with the lifestyle we practice inside the studio.
Meet our In House Nutritionists
Jennifer Silverman
Jennifer Silverman is a performance and functional nutritionist dedicated to helping people fuel for longevity, resilience, and high performance. She began her career as a corporate wellness consultant, supporting professionals in optimizing energy, focus, and productivity through strategic nutrition and lifestyle habits. She later worked in New York City as a nutritionist at a sports performance facility, where she guided former Division I athletes in fueling for strength, recovery, and long-term health after competitive sport.
Today, she works one-on-one with individuals of all ages—from executives and busy parents to athletes and young active individuals—who recognize that what they eat directly impacts how they perform. Jen's approach blends performance nutrition, functional health, and practical habit-building so clients can improve energy, sharpen mental clarity, support recovery, and extend both their healthspan and lifespan.
She believes that when you fuel your body with intention, you can perform better today while investing in a stronger, longer future.
Jen's expertise and relatability set her apart among her peers.
Jen Szymanski
Jen Szymanski, MS, RD, is a functional nutritionist and gut–skin health specialist with more than 25 years of clinical experience specializing in root-cause approaches to health and metabolic balance across the gut, skin, hormones, and metabolism. Through her practice, Vitality Led Health, she helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of their health while addressing concerns such as chronic skin conditions, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, and metabolic dysfunction.
Using a functional, systems-based approach, Jen develops highly individualized strategies that may incorporate advanced testing, targeted supplementation, and personalized nutrition and lifestyle support to help restore balance and promote long-term health.
She has extensive advanced training and certifications in functional medicine, root-cause dermatology, gut health, and hormone health, and is also a Certified Integrative Health and Wellness Coach through Duke Integrative Medicine. Earlier in her career, Jen held leadership roles in the medical nutrition industry, experience that continues to inform her evidence-based, systems-oriented approach.
In her collaborative work with wellness practitioners and performance programs, Jen helps translate metabolic and physiological insights into practical strategies that support gut health, energy production, metabolic efficiency, and overall resilience.
Jen lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, son, and their golden retriever. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active, taking long walks through Old Town, reading, and experimenting with nourishing recipes that bring together her love of food and wellness.

PNOĒ is a medical grade respiratory gas analysis system that evaluates how your body produces and utilizes energy at rest and during exercise.
Using indirect calorimetry, the clinical gold standard, the system measures oxygen consumption (VO₂) and carbon dioxide production (VCO₂) in real time. This allows for objective assessment of metabolic efficiency, fuel utilization, and aerobic capacity. -
Oxygen consumption (VO₂)
Carbon dioxide production (VCO₂)
Ventilation rate and breathing patterns
Energy expenditure
Substrate utilization, meaning fat vs carbohydrate oxidation
Respiratory Exchange Ratio (RER)
VO₂ max or peak oxygen uptake
Aerobic and anaerobic thresholds
Ventilatory efficiency
-
During the resting assessment, you remain relaxed while respiratory gases are measured.
This evaluates true Resting Metabolic Rate, baseline fat and carbohydrate oxidation, Respiratory Exchange Ratio, breathing efficiency, and indicators of metabolic stress. -
During the active assessment, exercise intensity increases progressively while gas exchange is continuously measured.
This determines VO₂ max, aerobic threshold, anaerobic threshold, fuel utilization across intensities, ventilatory response to exercise, and precise physiological training zones. -
Avoid exercise 12 hours prior
Avoid caffeine the morning of
Arrive well hydrated
For resting assessment, arrive fasted when possible
Wear a sanitized medical grade mask
Breath by breath analysis performed in real time
Resting test lasts approximately 10–15 minutes
Active test increases gradually and is monitored
Detailed physiological report generated

Wearable devices estimate calorie burn using motion and heart rate algorithms derived from generalized population data.
PNOĒ directly measures oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production, calculates true energy expenditure, quantifies fat vs carbohydrate oxidation, and defines metabolic and ventilatory thresholds using validated respiratory science.
